So the sweet deal was that i got to fly to Sydney and stay overnight in Surrey Hills for free with my friend who won a Johnnie Walker Facebook competition on Wednesday. I had very little knowledge of what to expect from the event but dammmmn we were treated like VIPs. Here are some Instagram polaroids from the event.
We left Perth so early in the morning i got to see the sunrise from my window. The event was called “Keep Walking“.
You know it’s a serious event when there is a carpet and a press line. Inside Carriageworks Studios. A very very cool space indeed.
Pre-show cocktails. Serving Johnnie Walker of course. This was Johnnie Walker and some juice with egg white. Tasted very good. So good we went back for a lot more.
Time for the taping of the show. We were part of the live audience during the interviews with Tim Cope (Adventurer), Grant Hackett (Olympian) and Steve Waugh (Cricket).
After the show, the 20 competition winners got herded backstage to meet and greet the special guests. I guess i had very little to say to the sportsmen so i drank (yes private bar behind the curtain) and spoke mostly with Tim Cope who was fascinating and had very cool stories to tell of his travels. I asked him about cameras he took on his trips and about his dog.
So the event was done and more fun times begin. We decided to stay on for 2 more days in Sydney, as you do. More on that soon.
